Bernard Joseph Laverty of Middleboro died peacefully on September 1, 2017 following a period of declining health.  He was 87.

He was born on January 2, 1930 in County Monaghan, Ireland, son of the late Michael and Mary (Fox) Laverty.  He arrived in the United States in 1965 and resided in East Dedham for many years. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Laverty worked at Carter's in Needham for more than 35 years. 

Beloved husband of the late Sarah J. (Greaney) Laverty.  Devoted father of Bernard J. Laverty, Jr. of Marshfield and Sarah J. Laverty of Middleboro.  Adored grandfather of Kerri Crosbie of Middleboro, Brendan Laverty and Caleigh Laverty both of Marshfield.  Cherished great-grandfather of Ryan Dowd, Shawnnessy Dowd and Brody Crosbie all of Middleboro.
